Love poetry as of late

So. This is my contribution to this weeks TOP. It's not really on prompt, but I liked it. I've been inspired to write love-y dove-y poetry as of late, although this is darker than I intended. Questions, comments and constructive criticisms are always welcome.

Rain cascading down car windows
Mimics the feeling pouring inside
Eyes close for the space of a moment
A lone tear silently escapes
Forging a path of heart break, loneliness and grief
Splashing into a pool of love, lust and desire
Ripples on the pristine waters
Upset the fragile balance
Sending lives spinning into chaos
Unexplained emotions bubble to the surface
Never say never when it comes to matters of the heart

Another poem, not very old, but not very new either

since i couldn't think of anything for this week's TOP, i've decided to post another one of the poems that i wrote for my creative writing class. it's an interesting poem to say the least. it's a little on the rated "r" side, but i hope that the images are not too strong and overwhelming. critiques and questions are welcome.

Painting by Moonlight

The moonlight caresses the purity of my bare skin
through half-opened blinds; a fresh canvas
on which to paint the beautiful portrait of Your cruelty.
i plead for the painting to start, to feel the strokes
as they make red lines and splotches. Your brush is cool
as it meaders down my spine; i shiver, anticipating the first

stroke. It slices through the air and i welcome the heat as it cuts
through my resistance, opening the door
to a hidden part of my soul; a door only You can open.
i hear a voice counting each stroke and realize
it's my own. A cloud settles in front of the moon, throwing
the room in darkness. i lose myself in the loud sharp strokes

of Your painting, needing and wanting, though the pain
is almost too much. With each stroke bruising
Your canvas, i remember the tough road we traveled
to get to this place, and the reason You chose this beautiful
isolated house on the outskirts of Savannah.
With no neighbors, there was no one to hear my cries.

We've got a skin on skin thing baby

so my post for this week's TOP poem is interesting. it's unconventional and perhaps a little over PG-13.  it's untitled as of now, but any suggestions would have equal thought consideration.

I watch your eyes as the travel so slowly
down the length of my body. I shiver
as you kiss the fluttering heartbeat
in the hollow of my throat.

Your eyes lock with mine as your fingers
trail down the creamy expanse of my skin
and find the hidden pearl that unlocks
all of my secret desires.

My breathing
starts
coming in
ragged
bursts.

Your name escapes
my lips like a prayer
and I close my eyes
to let the desire
wash over me.

Suddenly
every inch of my being
is on fire. Wave
after wave
of pleasure crashes
into me. Sending
me spinning into oblivion.

Your lips on mine bring me back into the present,
your eyes smile at me from under your lashes
and I know this is going to be a very long night.

If you're leaving leave the cigarettes

an update on my life right now.
i'm going to florida at the end of the week (very excited) with katie and her family, which is going to be pretty awesome i hope. i bought some new clothes and am going to get a mani/pedicure before i go, as well as a hair trim (i love my new shorter style). i pretty much can't wait for the trip.
i hope i can get my car fixed tomorrow. they have to put a new computer in it because the last one fried. ugh. so i have no a/c right now. not fun with temps topping out in the upper 90s.
my job has been delayed, which isn't really fun. it means i don't have an income until august. and i don't want to start a part time job for a month. so i'm sol and living on handouts. which is also not fun.
i'm pretty excited to be part of a poetry blog. it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. i'm thinking of posting more of my poems online and working being a better poet. i pretty much suck as it is. ugh. i probably need to put some more of my fiction online and work on making it better. maybe i can get some constructive criticism from this community of poets.
i'm also itching to start school. i'm working on my early childhood education degree. i didn't actually think that's what i wanted to do, until i kept looking at my options and kept coming back to that one. so i'm finishing my associates this year. i'd prefer to work at a private school, but i'm not sure how well that will work out.
nick goes home from a week off of school, so i'm pretty depressed.
but other than that, life is pretty darn good.

A New Arrival

so i'm starting to try and keep up with a poem prompter blog. it's very fun and interesting for me. i'm grateful that i stumbled upon it  because it keeps my creative juices flowing... and at times... my muses go on vacation. so... here's my poem to this weeks prompt... which was "First Giraffe."

"A New Arrival"

What is this Strange Thing?
It has a long neck and legs
and covered in spots.

enjoy!

------

(As I sit here, a tragedy develops)

A summer evening passed indoors
Friends, for now, forgotten
School a distant memory and a future problem
An unopened book lies askew on the bed

---------

Gathering Storm

Time passes slowly in these hours of dimming light
Watching the world go by
Listening to the murmuring of thunder
Waiting for the rain to fall

-------

Disappearing Act*****

A hush falls over the crowded room
All eyes on the tragic blue-eyed beauty
She slowly walks to the center of the room
Whispers follow her every step
With audible tears sliding down porcelain cheeks
She starts to fade away
Her sobs fill the air with melancholy
For people never realized that she was even there

***** this one needs work, I know.
